Applied powdered burnt sienna + cold-pressed linseed oil mixture (pigment) to canvases sized with rabbit-skin glue.

We mixed powdered burt sienna pigment with linseed oil, gradually adding more of each to achieve a thick paste. We mixed the oil and pigment with a pallet knife, scraping edged periodically. We also mulled the mixture to achieve a smoother and more integrated paste.

We applied the paint to the already sized canvas surface using a pallet knife, scraping the surface to ensure a smooth and even application.

The pained canvas was placed upright in the fume hood to dry.
