Jef R. Palframan is a graduate student at Columbia University under the Medieval and Renaissance Studies Department. He is a graduate of Oglethorpe University in Atlanta and Université d'Ottawa in Ottawa, Canada. His primary interests are in witchcraft persecutions in early modern Germany.

He hopes that participation in the Making and Knowing Project will allow him to expand his understanding of early modern material culture and artisanal practices. He is currently employed as a Graduate Research Assistant with the Making and Knowing Project and this is his second semester as a student in the laboratory seminar.

He is a proud veteran of the armies of both Canada and the United States.
