I am currently a 2nd year MA candidate in Decorative Arts, Design History and Material Culture at the Bard Graduate Center, New York City. My research focuses on cameo and gem collections in early modern Kunstkammern, especially in Southern Europe. I am very interested in the history, materials and techniques of stone carving, gem engraving, jewelry and glass.
This Laboratory seminar on Coloring and Early modern Craft at Columbia University is having an impact in my research, as I have shifted my interest from collectors and art patrons, to artists and craftsmen.
