Spring 2017 offered a new course in the Digital Humanities HIST GR8975: What is a Book in the 21st Century? Working with Historical Texts in a Digital Environment at Columbia University by the Making and Knowing Project. The course contributed to the collective creation of the Minimal Digital Edition of the Working English Translation of BnF Ms. Fr. 640. As students were introduced theoretically and practically to the concepts and tools relevant to the creation of a digital edition, they recorded their experience in Field Notes. Profiles were a way for students to introduce themselves to each other and the instructors.
