½ pint glass mason jar & metal lid
Copper sheet, about 2”X2” (manufacturer unknown)
About 50ml Heinz All Natural white vinegar, 5% acidity
5” piece of cotton twine (manufacturer unknown)
Procedure:
Fill up mason jar with vinegar
Fold copper plate and hang over string
Place string over mouth of jar and seal
A piece of copper plate is bent in half and hung on a 5” piece of string

Filled glass mason jar with about 50 mL or 1.5 cm of white vinegar (5% acidity). Folded copper sheet in half and hung it over the string. Placed the string over the mouth of the jar, taking care not to drop the plate or string into the jar. Closed the lid over the jar and sealed. NB: only one side of the string could fit through the lid of the glass jar. Labeled jar with name, date, concentration of acid.
